Señor Queso: Doritos Please!

They’re baaaaaack!

That’s right! Our production partner, Dandy Dwarves, is about to Crash the SuperBowl. Again! But we need your help!

Frito-Lay and Doritos are back at it with another installment of their Crash the SuperBowl contest. This year, it’s bigger than ever. How does it work? Simple. Sign up and create a 30 second commercial featuring Doritos snacks. Then, ask America to vote your spot to the top!

The top SIX finalists will get a cool $25,000, but that’s just the beginning. If you place in the top 3, your spot airs on national television during the SuperBowl. It doesn’t stop there. Place first on the USA Today Ad Meter and walk away with $1 million. Place second, $600,000. Third, $400,000. If Doritos places 1st, 2nd, and 3rd on the ad meter, everyone gets another $1 million!

Last year, you may remember Dandy Dwarves placed in the top five with their spot Too Delicious.

This year, they’re back for more! Enter Señor Queso, he’ll do anything for a Dorito. Doritos please!

Watch now, vote later! Voting begins in January, but be sure to stay up to date! Join the Facebook group for bonus pictures and videos!

Today we’ve launched a landing page campaign for Fargo-based company Pedigree Technologies. We whipped up this little diddy of a video to both intrigue the viewer and educate them on the Pedigree Technologies OneView product and service. Trying to put such a complex product into lamen’s terms proved to be a bit of a challenge, especially trying to do so quickly, but I think we’ve got a winner here that will give us legs for 4 or 5 more installations starring or new favorite character, Jack (of all trades).

Watch Now! Requires QuickTime.

We also designed the landing page for the Google Pay-Per-Click campaign. Check it out.

Hope ya likes!

Crashing the Superbowl, baby!

Well, I’ve been kind of a stranger to the blog lately. With a whole bunch of stuff going on around the holidays it’s been tough to keep up. That said, I’m back with some big news!

Our production team, Dandy Dwarves, along with director, Mike Goubeaux, have landed a seat in the top 5 for Doritos Crashing the Superbowl contest! Wheeeeeee!

I guess the winner won’t be announced until the spot actually airs live during the Superbowl, so Doritos has been kind enough to ship everyone there for the game.

We need your help! Vote for our entry, “Too Delicious,” as many times as you want until January 25th. Ok, not as many times as you want, but they do allow voting once a day so get on over there as much as you can.

Check out our entry, “Too Delicious.”

Check out the Top 5 entries.

So You Think You Can Cook?

I recently dug up this little gem. It’s a video I made with my mother for her submission to last year’s “So You Think You Can Cook?” contest put on by Rachel Ray. We thought it would be fun to make it a mash-up of food, football, and reality TV. Although we never did get accepted to the contest, it was a good time with food and friends and that’s what counts. See more on the finale here.

Thought it be fun to post the video for everyone to enjoy. Yay internet!

Time to grab our skis and head to Park City, Utah! The Dandy Dwarves just recently found out that their short film, Pencil Face, has been accepted to the Sundance Film Festival. Great work guys!

Dandy Dwarves is a production team that I helped start way back as a freshman at Savannah College of Art and Design. The team started out as a hobby and has now grown into a nice business in San Rafael, CA. I still try to work on as many projects as I can with them cuz they got mad skillz.

Zip zing!

First and foremost, HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Hope all had a great time with friends and family. I know I’m fat and happy; stuffed full of bacon wrapped pheasant, turkey, squash, potatoes and a nice dessert of grilled, cedar-planked meat loaf.

And speaking of turkey day and birds, check out the latest spot from Dandy Dwarves for Doritos featuring the boldest man in the world and a giant Peruvian condor! That’s bold!

Although it’s not new, I still constantly get a kick out of this creation from the mind of San Rafael based production group, the Dandy Dwarves. Originally created for SCADshorts, this short features the lovable Jennifer Kenny and her fitness expertise with an added surprise.

The project was directed by the ‘Dwarves own Christian Simmons. Christian was also recently featured on BoardsMag for this year’s up and coming Directors to Watch list. Congrats!

Be sure to check out the behind the scenes video, too. I think it may call for a follow-up: “How to build your own paint cannon.” I’ll see if I can get on that.

It’s official, Doritos trees exist! But is their fruit too delicious?

Check out the latest spot from the Dandy Dwarves. Excellent work!

Redline Tag Animation

Just completed! To help launch the new Redline ‘Redefine’ campaign we’ve completed this quick, action packed animation. It will be used to tag on to existing Redline videos while we continue our work to bring everything up to speed with the new look. Charpie teamed up with fellow production crew Dandy Dwarves and Mike Goubeaux to make it happen.

I’ve been working hard with the Dandy Dwarves on our recent project SCADshorts. In celebration of Valentines’ Day we’ve come up with this fun little number, Love Hurts.

It’s also inspired this Match.com spot.

In this short video introduction to the 2007 SCAD Fashion Show with Marc Jacobs, the perfectly awful little town of Plasticville finds itself facing a storm of prodigious proportions.

Today launched SCADshorts, a project developed by fellow production group Dandy Dwarves and the Savannah College of Art and Design. Dandy Dwarves asked me to take on the site’s design and I did so enthusiastically being a big fan of the group’s work. The project takes a unique approach to the new ‘YouTube’ generation. As a viewer, you get the opportunity to take part in the short film fun. Watch the monthly released shorts and try to come up with the most creative title! That’s right. If the SCADshorts team chooses your title as the short’s official title, you not only get the prestige but a shiny new iPod touch. So head over and start submitting titles!

Special thanks to Britt Spencer for the awesome SCADshorts lettering!
